Apr  7  Status Update by Chris Poirier • in Announcementspermalink

Well, another week, more progress.  The AST transformation system has been completely redesigned (again), is implemented, and has had some basic testing.  This is a critical step in getting RCC processing grammars, as the internal machinery expects the parsed grammar to be in a transformed state.

I am now working through a shake-down run of parsing a real grammar and using it to parse an input file in that language.  Yay for meta programming!  The first instance of the interpreter applies the RCC grammar language itself to parse a grammar, which is used to build a second interpreter to read in an actual source file.  Just in case I’m not being clear, the first one was done a week ago, and the second is most of the way there now.

I can see light up ahead, and — this time — I’m pretty sure it’s not another train!
